Buying Leads - The Basics

"How are we different than other lead vendors?"

In a past life our founder managed lead-generation for the B2B company he worked for and was frustrated with the lack of vendors who were willing to put their money where their mouths were and stand behind the quality of their leads. Vendors were either over-priced, too risky in terms of how the campaign would perform, or just plain junk.

After leaving that company, he developed a program from which he himself would have purchased leads. The three key principles behind this program, and what separates us from other lead vendors are:

  • Guaranteed number of leads per order
  • The ability to customize your own qualifiers
  • Only paying for performance

"How do we generate such highly-qualified leads?"

We take your existing content (or work with you to create new content with our Content Creation services) and market it to highly-targeted audiences using a variety of methods. People who wish to download your content provide their contact information and answer the pre-qualifier questions you selected in exchange for access.

From these leads, we filter out those that don't meet your customized qualifiers and only pass on the qualified leads.

"How much does it cost? An arm? A leg? Multiple limbs?!"

In these tough economic times...yada yada yada. It doesn't matter how the economy is doing, you should never pay for overpriced leads. Base rates typically start between $70-$90 (depending on number of filters used) per highly-qualified lead. That may seem like a bargain to some companies, but if you consider this expensive, remember, this is not your cost-per-lead (CPL) but rather your cost-per-QUALIFIED-lead (CPQL).

So let's compare apples to apples using a simple exercise. Follow the steps below to calculate your true CPQL:

  1. Take your total number of leads for a program you wish to compare
  2. Subtract those leads that were not qualified
  3. Divide the total cost of all of that program's leads (including unqualified leads) by the number of qualified leads that were left

You may be surprised to find that the true cost of a good lead is substantially higher than you initially thought. You may also be surprised to find that the cost of our highly-qualified leads is suddenly a bargain.

Remember...at the end of the day, higher-quality leads have a better chance of converting to the next stage of the sales pipeline. This equals better close rates for your sales team and a positive impact on your bottom line. If our leads would provide you with a positive ROI, then it's a "no-brainer" and you should immediately contact us to begin receiving highly-qualified leads.

"What is this Guarantee we keep mentioning?"

We guarantee that we will deliver a specific number of leads that meet your qualifiers and we will continue to run your campaign until that number of qualified leads is met.

The speed at which we can deliver these leads is determined by several factors including but not limited to: the quality and nature of the content you will be using, the qualifiers you choose, your target audience, and possibly even the phase of the moon (we're still testing this last one).

Because of the highly-customized nature of each of our customers' campaigns, there is really no "average customer" for us to determine average speed of delivery. However, if you held our feet to the fire (and we're hoping you won't because that might cause blisters), we might estimate delivery of anywhere between 50-80 leads per month per piece of content used, per audience targeted. Again, we cannot emphasize enough that this varies from customer to customer.
